Abstract:

This study aimed to determine the clinical teaching effectiveness and the students- clinical performance in six Colleges of Nursing in Metro Cebu, namely: Cebu Doctors- College, Southwestern University, University of Cebu, University of San Carlos, University of the Visayas and Velez College. The descriptive method of research was used to establish the relationship between the teaching effectiveness of nurse-educators and the students- clinical performance. Clinical teaching skills are most important and very effective as perceived by both teachers and students. The clinical teaching skills as to organization, preparation, setting of expectations, asking questions, role modeling and attitudes of clinical teachers were significantly related to the students- clinical performance.
