The Department of Mechanical Engineering announced the offering of the new ladderized five-year Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering (B.S. Mfg. E.) major in Metalworking, effective Academic Year 2013-2014. The program is not offered in any other university in the Philippines.
The Manufacturing Engineering program will prepare pragmatic manufacturing engineers who will respond assertively to the changing needs of the manufacturing industry by applying research and theory in the design and development of products for manufacturability and efficient processes with awareness of the realities on manufacturing operation and the needs of society for long term sustainability. This preparation will be enhanced through extensive manufacturing engineering theories and hands-on laboratory experiences. Faculty members who will handle the new program possess intensive and wide-range industry/manufacturing experiences aside from their advanced degrees.
